A huge Thank you to all who donated to the Emergency Storm Fund! After floods and storms hit Manila last week UK supporters responded so fast and with such generosity. Money was quickly transfered to the Philippines so food and supplies were made available within hours for 300 affected families (thats about 1.000 people). Thank you so much. The best news is that the floods have gone down. EMERGENCY MANILA TYPHOON APPEAL UPDATE Thank you so much to the amazing donors who have already given so generously to the Emergency Appeal. More than 300 households related to the Children of the Dump family have faced peril and loss after Tropical Storm Wipha hit the community. Your generosity meant that every family affected already has a full food kit including a nutritous bowl of hot macaroni soup with egg from the Mango House kitchens. The pictures show how fast and efficiently this is delivered- your donations are not wasted. The local community has come together to help prepare, cook and deliver supplies. Local donations of dry clothes (Thank you BWA Manila and others) were vital. Extra donations are still needed. The effort continues. The forecast is still for a week of heavy rain. Those who work on the rubbish dumps (closed because of landslip risk) face hardship with no way of earning. There is a massive job of clearing up and replacing whats lost to come.
