Severe ME and Very Severe ME are the 25% of the most severely ill of those with myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME). They are often home-bound and/or bedbound. They are limited in their ability to interact with the outside world. Some are tube-fed and must live in quiet, darkened rooms unable to tolerate touch and sound.
