Thrilled that @decolonisingmemory_bristol will be presenting some of their new work on Wednesday 14th May as part of our night - TO BE CONTINUED. Show starts at 7.30pm - pls visit our website for more information xx Decolonising Memory Digital Bodies In Movement was a UKRI funded project that included the co creation of a new memorial folk dance relating to Bristol and the history and legacy of the Transatlantic Trafficking in Enslaved Africans. The latest phase has worked with musicians and dancers to build an original piece of commemorative music to accompany the dance. Together the team have produced an original memorial form, for the people of Bristol and beyond to memorialise this history, its memory and legacy, from an African-centred international position. Members of the collective Cleo Lake, Latisha Cesar and Penny-Marie perform both the memorial dance and an excerpt of a new work in progress 'If you see my Mary'. Decolonisingmemory.co.uk (fb)
