Unless you’ve experienced travel in rural Nepal firsthand, it’s hard to imagine just how remote some of the villages we work in truly are. Just a couple of weeks ago, a group of our incredible donors made a two-day journey to reach the newly completed Shree Parwati Basic School in the Gorkha district. Even our aerial shot of Uhiya village doesn't fully capture the remoteness, but the photos of the road through Gorkha say it all. Project Update from Tanahun! 🇳🇵 We’re excited to share that work is now well underway at Shree Siddeswori Secondary School! The earthquake-damaged buildings have already been safely demolished, and the site is now being prepared for foundation work to begin on the new structure. Earlier this year, we shared how the old school buildings - collapsed and leaking roofs, cracked walls, and flooding during monsoon - were unsafe for the 230 students who study there. Very soon, construction will begin on a new, earthquake-resilient, two-storey building with 8 classrooms, providing a safe, secure learning environment that will benefit current and future students for years to come. Head teacher Mr. Narayan Prasad is confident that once the new classrooms are complete, even more families will want to send their children to Shree Siddeswori. Thanks to the incredible efforts of the entire @Educate team, who ran marathons in three cities over one week to fully fund this project!
