Gee-up for tea campaign Only greater openness will reduce stigma and save lives. That’s the view of our founder Dr Anita Sharma, who has backed a brand-new world-first breast cancer drive for South Asian women – Pink Chai. Launched by community concern Upturn and the Henna Foundation, the campaign simply asks people to organise a quick tea party – and start a conversation. Dr Sharma said: “This should be a subject that women are able and happy to talk about, freely. Early detection saves lives but that will not be possible if we continue to foster a culture of ignorance and fear.” The campaign came around following an awareness-raising event addressed by Dr Anita a few months ago.
