Rooftops Canada works with Canadian and International partners to improve housing conditions build sustainable communities and develop a shared vision of equitable global development Rooftops Canada focuses on SubSaharan Africa where 70 of urban families about 300 million people live in slums. It is very challenging for these families to thrive when every day they face overcrowding insecure tenure violence lack of basic services and have few opportunities to earn a living. Working with extraordinary local partners including housing and civil society organizations local governments credit and trade unions universities and the private sector were able to support urban people living in poverty especially women secure their rights to live in peace and dignity. HOUSING DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT Building local skills and systems to secure land and develop housing.
