New exhibition: 𝘐𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 The result of a research-creation residency by artist Yann Pocreau, presented at the Colby-Curtis Museum. Through a poetic and archival lens, Pocreau explores the power of light and memory by revisiting anonymous photographs and photographic objects from our collections — most of which have never been exhibited before. This original artistic project blurs the lines between presence and disappearance, fiction and heritage. — Nouvelle exposition : 𝘐𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘦́𝘳𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 Le fruit d'une résidence de recherche-création de l’artiste Yann Pocreau. À partir de photographies anciennes issues de nos collections et des objets photographiques pour la plupart jamais exposés, l’artiste propose une réflexion sensible sur la lumière, la mémoire et l’effacement. Cette proposition artistique inédite transforme l’espace en un vaste album photographique grandeur nature habité de présences, visibles ou fantomatiques. (fb)

Language Language Language Language Item added to your cart Welcome to the ColbyCurtis Museum The ColbyCurtis Museum While the collection of documents and artefacts was among its principal aims since its foundation in 1929 the Stanstead Historical Society did not posses adequate space for the presentation of its collection until 1973. In that yearCharles C. Colby and Arthur Curtis were instrumental in funding the first actual museum which was named in their honourThe ColbyCurtis Museum. The converted schoolhouse in Beebe that housed the museum was a delight for members and visitors who could now for the first time enjoy full access to the Societys archival documents and collections.
