Through SPARC BC’s Local Community Accessibility Grant, the City of White Rock has installed an accessible mat on the White Rock Pier. The installation of this accessible mat removes physical barriers that individuals with mobility issues and devices may face and ensures that EVERYONE can enjoy Canada’s longest pier! We would also like to thank Susan Bains from the Equal Access Collective and the SAS Self-Advocates for their advocacy and fundraising efforts in making this project a reality. We encourage all local governments in British Columbia to apply for the Local Community Accessibility Grant and make their community accessible for everyone! (fb)
