A milestone for belonging in Newfoundland and Labrador! With new support from the Provincial and Federal governments, L'Arche Avalon is moving closer to opening its first two inclusive homes in St. John’s. These homes will be places where people with and without intellectual disabilities live together, building friendships and communities of mutual care and belonging. This project is part of a growing national movement for inclusive housing at L’Arche, alongside new initiatives in Vancouver and Stratford. Across Canada, we are showing that affordable, accessible, community-rooted housing is possible — and that people with intellectual disabilities are leaders in shaping the places we call home.
