Meet Jonathan! Jonathan is a Community and Volunteer Engagement Coordinator in Red Deer! He works with our different departments to find opportunities for volunteering, and recruits volunteers to fill the shifts! Jonathan started with the Mustard Seed back in 2021 as a street-level worker in Calgary. Since then, he's had held roles in resident engagement, property management, and shelter services—each one shaping his path to the CE/VE team. When we asked Jonathan what his favourite part of the job is, he said it "will always be the people I am surrounded by each day. We have an excellent sense of community here in Red Deer between staff, volunteers and clients. I would also say that everyone here understands that the work we do is relational work.
