Mission
Heart Niagara's mission is to empower individuals within the community to take control of their heart health. This is achieved through the delivery of a wide range of programs and services that focus on heart health awareness and education.
Programs and Services
The organization offers fourteen programs and services, including:
- CPR and AED Training: Heart Niagara provides critical training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), benefiting over 10,000 people annually.
- Diagnostic Services: They offer cardiovascular health assessments and screenings to identify risk factors.
- Healthy Heart Schools Program: This initiative focuses on promoting healthy lifestyles among school-aged children.
- Healthy Daily Living Initiatives: These programs encompass healthy eating, exercise, and other lifestyle choices that support heart health.
- HeartCORE Program: A comprehensive health program aimed at improving overall well-being.
Impact
The organization has significantly contributed to the community by placing over 270 AEDs in public locations throughout Niagara. This has enhanced the accessibility of lifesaving equipment in emergencies.
