Women of Note Inc.

Women of Note Inc. is a registered Canadian nonprofit organization based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The organization operates as a community choir for women, fostering a spirit of sisterhood and friendship through singing.

History

Founded in 1994 by Patricia Rabson, Women of Note Inc. has evolved into a prominent entity within the choral community. The choir offers opportunities for women of all ages and varying levels of choral experience to come together and enrich their lives through song.

Mission

The mission of Women of Note Inc. is to celebrate and enrich the lives of women through song and friendship. The choir provides a platform for its members to engage in musical performances that challenge and inspire, while also fostering community engagement and outreach.

Structure and Activities

The choir is structured into performance groups, including the Women of Note Chorale, Women of Note Chamber Singers, and Women of Note Massed Choir. These groups facilitate diverse musical experiences tailored to the needs of their choristers. The choir follows a two-term rehearsal schedule, commencing in September and January, with major concerts held in early December and early May. Workshops and massed choir rehearsals are conducted periodically throughout each term.

Community Engagement

Women of Note Inc. engages in community outreach by performing at various events and providing musical entertainment by invitation. The choir's activities contribute to the enrichment of Winnipeg's cultural scene and promote the joy of singing in their community.
