We are so thrilled to have our next Reconnecting Body and Mind session lead by a community powerhouse, Renee Dumaresque (they/them). They will be conducting an inclusive workshop this coming Tuesday, Oct 21st from 6-8pm, held at 15 Hallett Cres. Title: Further Strengthening the Mind Body Connection: Noticing Our Yuck, Our Yum, Our Pleasure, and Our Boundaries Sign up link: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=Q4c9klC1a0KGfSPluzI4CvKvw_QuLvJPuMP9yxrteGVUMzRJNVlGSjVBM1NSQ0NYQlhNN1M4SzRSVC4u This workshop is a trauma informed space where participants will have the chance to practice sensory exploration and grounding exercises to strengthen their mind body connection. We’ll engage in activities that expand our capacity to notice our yuck and our yum, what feels nourishing, neutral, too much, or just no. Together we’ll explore how this awareness supports a greater sense of safety, pleasure, and connection with our boundaries, deepening trust in the body’s wisdom rooted in groundedness and choice. Renee Dumaresque is a social worker, therapist, performer, community organizer, and PhD candidate living between St. John’s and Toronto. Their work moves between somatic, sex-positive, and trauma-informed psychotherapy, social practice, and creative production. As co-founder of Crip Rave, Renee creates accessible nightlife and performance spaces centering disabled, mad, sick, and neurodivergent artists and partygoers. Their work and research engage with the intersections of sex and sex work, queerness, disability, race, and sound, and are rooted in commitments to accessibility, queer, and embodied justice. Hope to see you there! Reach out to Shauna at programs@endsexualviolence.com if you have any questions regarding the Reconnecting Body and Mind program :) Take Care, folks 💘 (fb)
