🖤 It is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to a beloved member, supporter, and friend of so many in the #Calgary #choral #community, Steve Komar. Steve joined CMC in 2015 and was a member up until summer of 2020, when he was diagnosed with cancer. Over the first months of his illness, many of us would visit with him on his balcony or from the sidewalk–due to distancing rules in place at the time. Over the recent years Steve continued on as guest at our shows, including our 30th Anniversary concert this past May. A few years after his diagnosis, Steve provided a financial legacy to CMC through the Steven Gregory Komar Scholarship and Tuition Fund, to assist youth and those in need. Steve's legacy will live on for as long as we keep singing with abandon–like he did–in the many choirs he joined, or just an evening of karaoke with the gang!
