Before Meadowridge found its forever home on 240th, it all began on a 5-acre plot off 230th Street—18,000 sq. ft. of portables on a leased reservoir site for $15K a year. On May 5, 1985, Gord and Mary Robson led the paperwork to bring the school to life. Over 150 people packed a meeting at the Best Western in Maple Ridge and raised the funds to make it happen. By July, the sod was turned. By September, 85 students (Kindergarten to Grade 9), 12 teachers, and our first Headmistress, Gillian Sommi, opened the doors for the very first time.
