A nonprofit organization delivering high-quality music education to youth throughout New York City The mission of the Harmony Program is to support the healthy social-emotional development and academic achievement of children in underserved communities across New York City through the study and performance of music. By providing high-quality, year-round music instruction and ensemble training to children in underserved communities, the Harmony Program helps students develop musical proficiency as well as acquire the kind of “life skills” and habits of mind that lead to long-term success. The Harmony Program also addresses a shortage of well-trained music teachers by recruiting and training accomplished musicians as its teachers and instilling in them a long-term commitment to community outreach and education.
