Victoria Guitar Society
The Victoria Guitar Society is a registered nonprofit organization in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. It was incorporated in July 2017 and holds a Canadian charitable registration number. As a BC-registered non-profit society, the organization is also recognized by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) as a registered charity with the business number 706357290RR0001.
Mission
The society's mission is to promote education and increase appreciation of classical guitar in Victoria. It aims to build the community through a variety of programs including concerts, workshops, and social events.
Programs and Activities

International Concert Series: The Victoria Guitar Society hosts an International Concert Series featuring renowned international and Canadian artists. Recent performers include Marko Topchii, a Ukrainian guitarist known for winning numerous international competitions.

Outreach Programs: The organization offers several community outreach initiatives such as monthly Open Mics and a Community Ensemble. These programs also include free public performances and presentations on classical guitar.

On April 12, the Victoria Guitar Society Ensemble had the honor of performing at the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival! 🎶 As the Director of the ensemble, I had the joy of leading this wonderful group of dedicated guitar enthusiasts: Maggy, Jim, James, Roman, Janice, Chen, Patrick and Juan. Their commitment, love for music, and teamwork truly brought the performance to life. I'm proud of what we've created together and look forward to more music ahead! Special thanks to Alan Rinehart for serving as juror and offering his time and expertise—it was a privilege to share our work with you. If you play guitar and enjoy making music in a supportive group setting, we’d love to have you join us! With deep respect and heartfelt admiration, we share the final concert of Maestro Alexander Dunn — a true artist whose music has graced our stage and hearts. As a Persian poem says: “Life is a unique stage for our artistry; everyone sings their tune and leaves, but the stage remains.
