🎉 MHC celebrates 60 years of service to Southeast Alberta! Back in the early 1960s, local school boards proposed the idea to establish a college within Medicine Hat. By September 1965, the vision came to life, and Medicine Hat Junior College opened its doors to 97 full-time and 11 part-time students. As we honor our legacy, Medicine Hat College looks ahead to the future to move forward with new opportunities that focus on our region and learners. Over the next year, MHC will launch two new programs, expand dual credit opportunities with regional school boards, grow in the field of agribusiness, and support exciting growth in applied research and innovation. A recent donation from the Yuill Family Foundation, the biggest in MHC’s history, will position the college as a leader in rural health education in Southeast Alberta. “For 60 years, we’ve served Southeast Alberta, proudly supporting students and celebrating the people and passion that make this region an amazing place to call home,” says Kevin Shufflebotham, president and CEO. “Growing a vibrant future with learners and our region - it’s why we’re here.” 🎊 To celebrate, we proudly present our official 60th anniversary logo! Building careers in canine care 🐾 Students in our Service Dog & Canine Studies Management program gain all the skills needed to train dogs, while also developing proficiencies to run their own businesses! As part of their Kennel Technologies course, students explored the essentials of safe animal containment, sanitation, and enrichment—key knowledge for careers in animal care and business ownership.
