Le Centre d'art de Préville Inc., also known as Préville Fine Arts Centre Inc., is a Canadian nonprofit organization and registered charity dedicated to arts and cultural education. Founded in 1974, the Centre is located in Saint-Lambert, on Montreal’s South Shore, Quebec, and operates under the business registration number 106893084RR0001.

Mission and Activities

The mission of Le Centre d'art de Préville is to provide high-quality, accessible, and affordable music and arts education in a bilingual setting. It serves learners of all ages and backgrounds, enriching the community through a wide range of artistic disciplines. These include musical instruction (across all instruments), dance, visual arts, performing arts, robotics, technology, and languages.

The organization offers both group and private classes, aiming to foster creativity and cultural development among children (7+ years), adolescents, adults, and seniors. In the fall of 2020, it expanded its offerings by launching the Préville Dance Academy and a virtual school called Préville Online!, extending its reach beyond in-person learning.

Governance and Community Role

Founder Belva Thomas established the Centre with a vision to nurture artistic talents locally. Currently, the organization is led by General Director Veronica Thomas and governed by a dedicated board of directors.

Le Centre d'art de Préville also undertakes community projects such as the Amadeus project, which focuses on acquiring and preserving the historic Saint-Lambert Catholic Church building to transform it into a cultural, artistic, and community hub for Saint-Lambert and surrounding municipalities on Montreal’s South Shore.

As a registered charity recognized by the Canada Revenue Agency, Le Centre d'art de Préville complies with regulatory requirements and operates a bursary fund designed to make arts education accessible to as many people as possible.
