Hydrostone Academy has been selected to take part in the Participatory Budgeting event for District 8! 📅 When: Thursday, September 25 🕕 Time: 6:00–8:00 p.m. 📍 Where: Maritime Hall, Halifax Forum At this event, District 8 residents (yes — even kids!) will explore community project proposals and vote for the ones they want to see funded. Voting happens in person between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m., with results announced right after! ✨ Our project: A semi-permanent outdoor stage at Hydrostone Academy — a space that will serve as a performance venue for school and community events, while remaining a beloved basketball court when not in use. This project will bring more arts, culture, and connection to the North End! 🙌 Here’s how you can help: 1️⃣ Come vote! Every District 8 resident, including children, gets a ballot — but you must vote in person. 2️⃣ Spread the word! 🎶 We’re delighted to share that fiddle and guitar lessons will be offered at Hydrostone Academy this year with the talented Malcolm MacNeil, a musician from Cape Breton!
