Today, we’re sharing some sad news as we grieve the loss of our dear Booboo. Booboo came to us as a stray in June 2024 and right from the start, we knew she was special. We didn’t know anything about her past, but during her time with us—and time spent with her foster parents—we got to know the real Booboo. She was smart, sweet, and funny. She made us laugh, made us think, and taught us all about patience, love, and how complex mental health can be—even in animals. But Booboo also struggled. She had serious behavioural issues that caused her a lot of stress and made it hard for her to enjoy life. Our team tried everything we could—training, medications, expert advice, and supportive foster homes—but despite all of it, Booboo didn’t show the progress we had hoped for. We’re committed to doing everything we can to give animals a good quality of life. We did everything possible for Booboo and made every decision with love and care. After extensive consultations, treatments, therapeutic efforts, and compassionate care, we knew the kindest and most loving choice was to help her find peace. On May 14 Booboo crossed the rainbow bridge road surrounded by people who deeply loved her. Booboo’s story isn’t just about her struggles—it’s about how deeply she touched the people around her. She taught us, changed us, and reminded us why we do this work. She spent her last days in a familiar, loving foster home, surrounded by comfort and care. Booboo’s life mattered. She was seen, loved, and fought for—every single day. All of us are grieving the loss of our dear Booboo, she has been a part of the family. To her caregivers, fosters, and team members who supported her: thank you. You gave her peace, joy, and the chance to be herself. (fb)
