Throwback Thursday! Edmonton Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner’s journey to the NHL included stops at Edmonton Catholic Schools. Check out this video from his time at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School where, at just 15-years-old, Stuart Skinner was already towering over players and destined for success. Fast forward to 2025, where Skinner has made history, becoming just the third Oilers goalie to earn back-to-back playoff shutouts and the first since Cam Talbot in 2017! His performance has helped lead Edmonton to their second straight appearance in the Western Conference Final. #ECSD joins Oil Country in cheering Stuart Skinner and the rest of the Oilers all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals. May is Asian Heritage Month! An opportunity for #ECSD students and staff to learn more about the diverse cultures and histories of Asian communities in Canada. As part of Multicultural Day, Cardinal Léger Catholic Junior High students participated in hands-on activities that celebrated Asian Heritage Month. They created origami, painted cherry blossom art, wrote their names in Chinese characters, sampled spring rolls and pancit, and enjoyed musical performances of popular Filipino songs by fellow students. #ECSDfaithinspires #AHM2025 (fb)
