Dear Sarnia Christian School Community, After much prayer, reflection, and significant deliberation, the Board of Sarnia Christian School has decided to delay the launch of the high school until September 2026. What Went into this Decision? Over the past year, we have seen considerable excitement for the idea of having a Christ-centred high school in Sarnia. During our open houses and parent meetings, we heard lots of enthusiasm for the idea of a high school in Sarnia. We have a fantastic leader in Mr. Nathan Johns, who is shaping and fulfilling the vision God has set on our hearts. We have a lease ready to go with our neighbouring facilities, and connections made with businesses and owners throughout our community. However, to ensure that our high school begins with a strong foundation for growth, we set the minimum enrolment threshold for our first class. Unfortunately, we were not able to meet this threshold for a September 2025 launch. The Board believes that beginning with too few students would limit both the quality of the program and the long-term health of the school. In November, the Board will meet with our membership to present an updated plan moving forward. Why We’re Waiting Our long-term goal is to see a thriving high school here in the next 5-10 years and beyond. Waiting one more year allows us to continue building awareness, strengthening relationships, and gathering a strong first group of students who can help set the tone for the school’s future. What’s Next on this Journey? We remain committed to this bold and faith-filled vision. Over the next year, we will: • Continue community outreach to share the vision for the high school. • Connect with school leaders to establish relationships between students and staff. • Engage with church families and other local organizations to strengthen partnerships. • Invite feedback and ideas from parents and other supporters. Please continue to pray with us for wisdom, for God’s perfect timing, and for the students and families who will be part of our first high school class.
