Arianne Jones, an Edge School class of 2008 graduate, has always inspired those around her with her strength and determination. Now, she’s facing the biggest fight of her life. On January 22, Arianne welcomed a beautiful baby boy, River, into the world. Only four days later, Arianne was rushed to the ICU with a rare bacterial infection—one of only 50 cases ever documented. She spent 21 days in a coma, 29 days on a ventilator, and has undergone 12 surgeries so far. Arianne has overcome odds that have been stacked against her, but she's not through it all yet. Right now, Arianne is working to regain some key internal functions as well as movement in her body. At this stage, she’s unable to lift her arms or legs, but her spirit is as fierce and determined as ever. While she’s made it through the unthinkable, her recovery will take months of rehab, surgeries and care.
