We are proud to share our final featured artists, Derya Akay and Dilara Akay and their exhibition Ghost Spring from January to February, 2018 as a part of the w.e. c.a.r.e. a. l.o.t. project. :link: View enriched records from their exhibition and learn more about the project through the links located in our bio! w.e. c.a.r.e. a. l.o.t. enriches hundreds of records from our digital archive, documenting creative practices of artists from underrepresented communities with image descriptions and document transcriptions to make knowledge of their practices more accessible to a wider breadth of audiences. This project is part of grunt’s larger aim to foster accessibility through the ongoing work to centre and celebrate diverse voices in contemporary art with tools to support access for those with a variety of lived experiences. In line with our creative access ethos and acknowledging the inherent subjectivity of access needs, the image descriptions included in this project and our archive are works in progress. We welcome artist and user feedback on our use of language and terminology in making these descriptions to provide more accurate, usable, and respectful descriptions.
