Knox Church was originally the first brick Presbyterian Church built in South Edmonton, reflecting its historical significance. Initially, church services were held in the Strathcona Hotel from 1891 to 1892, followed by the erection of a wood frame church in 1892. As the community grew, the need for a larger facility became apparent, leading to the construction of the current brick building, which was designed to accommodate about 600 people.
