Our Volunteer Wave team visited the Greater Vancouver Food Bank @vanfoodbank this August to help with food distribution on August 16 and 23. We always love being part of the incredible work they do! Together with staff and other volunteers, we packed and handed out groceries, helping families and individuals get what they needed. Volunteers also got hands-on experience in teamwork, organization, and connecting with the community. Every visit leaves us inspired. The Greater Vancouver Food Bank is about more than food, it’s about care, connection, and making sure everyone feels seen and supported. (fb)

On August 10, our Volunteer Wave team returned to Belkin House, a well-loved emergency shelter and transitional housing centre in Downtown Vancouver that supports people experiencing housing insecurity. Together with the kitchen staff, volunteers prepared and served a full lunch of chicken, salad, cheese bread, and chocolate cake for residents. Returning volunteers helped new teammates get the hang of tasks, everyone pitched in wherever they were needed, and the team worked smoothly in a busy kitchen. It was a small way to support Belkin House and the important work they do every day for their community! (fb)
