On Sat. April 19, we held our annual AGM at the Bill & Helen Norrie Library. It was a good day to review the accomplishments of the 2024 year for our organization. One of the programs we have funded over the years has been the Writer-In-Residence. We invited the 35th writer, Nora Decter to share her experiences. Over her tenure she has connected with 96 diverse writers on writing in many different genres. She expressed the high value of this program and the vital service the Winnipeg Public Library shares with the community. OUR IMPACT 391000 donated to the Winnipeg Public Library to support special projects and programs since 2000 OUR IMPACT Each year we sponsor several additional fundraising activites and over the past two decades the Friends of the Winnipeg Library has provided more than 391000 to fund programs and special projects for Winnipeg Public Library. OUR IMPACT Cosponsoring the popular WriterinResidence program which provides mentorship by an established and successful Manitoba author to emerging writers as well as more established ones. OUR IMPACT Spring Break program which promotes family friendly literacy activities for school age children.
