I loved to draw, read and write and I still do. While I was living in Sept-Iles on the Québec North Shore, I learned the basics of oil painting. It was the spark for my lifelong love of painting. Since then I have actively pursued my art on my own by experimenting with colour and technique, improving my skills and acquiring knowledge. Nature is at the core of my art. It is my source of inspiration and comfort. It is a complex world filled with life, beauty, mystery and danger, therefore it commands respect. Robert, my husband, and I seize every opportunity to go for hikes in parks and conservation areas. We enjoy watching birds and follow the spring and fall migrations. Since 1999, except during the Covid-19 pandemic, we have taken annual trips to visit different places in Canada. Many of my artworks represent scenes of the Canadian landscape. I enjoy working in the comfort of my studio but I will not miss an opportunity for a plein air painting session. Sketchbook studies, photography, videos, notes, impressions, memories and emotions are my source material for future paintings and projects.
