Our Landcare stewards guide volunteers to help remove the very invasive European Buckthorn for the Seine River Greenway. Why do we remove Buckthorn? European Buckthorn is an invasive shrub that was deliberately introduced as a landscape plant, and removing it helps the greenway naturally restore native trees, shrubs and forbs for a healthier riparian ecosystem.
