Throne speech today to announce the governments intentions for the next year. (fb)
Today we were honoured to accompany Terry (and Christine) and Kelvin (and Pat) when they met with Minister of Health Jeremy Cockrill. Today was about these two men and their families telling the story of ALS and it how it has impacted the lives of those closest to them and how unfair it is to have loved ones be burdened with so much of the care required by this disease. The ALS Society of SK is proud to facilitate these moments with the Government of SK, so that part of the legacy of those facing this disease is opportunities to tell the real story of what this disease really is and how it affects everyone it touches. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis also known as Lou Gehrigs disease is a fatal neuro degenerative disease. ALS has no known cure or effective treatment yet. Approximately 2500 3000 Canadians currently live with this fatal disease. Please note that we are always seeking new avenues for support so if you have any thoughts on how to help us raise funds please know that we are always looking for new ways to advance our cause.
