📚 Exciting News! You’ll soon be able to pick up your copy of Matriarchs of the Hoople Creek Loyalists by John Sliter at the Museum Store or through our Webstore. Stay tuned for the release date! ✨ About the Book Matriarchs of the Hoople Creek Loyalists is a collection of historical fiction stories highlighting seventeen women and their families who settled along Hoople Creek in eastern Ontario. These remarkable women endured hunger, disease, and war as they raised their families in a new and untamed land. Descendants of the United Empire Loyalists, they helped shape a resilient community whose legacy continues today. 👤 About the Author John Sliter, born in Cornwall, Ontario, grew up exploring Hoople Creek while visiting his grandparents’ farm. After a distinguished 36-year career with the RCMP, John returned to the Ingleside area, where his passion for history and the environment inspired the creation of The Friends of Hoople Creek Society. His research into the families of Hoople Creek led him to highlight the extraordinary stories of the women who helped build early Upper Canada. 📖 A must-read for anyone interested in Loyalist history, women’s stories, and the roots of our community. #LocalHistory #CanadianHistory #HoopleCreek #Loyalists #MuseumStore #NewBookRelease #Matriarchs (fb)
