Oxford County Library Board
The Oxford County Library Board is a nonprofit organization registered with the Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) under the business registration number 888216041RR0001. This organization is responsible for the governance and operation of the Oxford County Library, which provides library services through 14 branches across Oxford County.
Mission and Vision
The mission of the Oxford County Library Board is to be a focal point of the community by offering welcoming and inclusive spaces that enrich the lives of those they serve. The vision is to provide a place where people can connect, discover, share, and become.
Library Services
The Oxford County Library offers a wide range of services to support the community. These include:
- Free lending of books, DVDs, and other materials.
- Access to online catalogs, databases, and lifelong learning tools.
- Community information, including local history and genealogy support.
- Programs for children, teens, and adults, encompassing literacy services and job search resources.
- Computer access and information about government services.
- The Kitchen Library and other specialized programs.
Governance
The Library Board is composed of members who are responsible for setting policies in accordance with the Public Libraries Act. The board includes representatives such as councillors and community members who help shape the library's policies and direction.
