Have you ever treated Sabbath like a reward at the end of your to-do list? Mark Buchanan reminds us that Sabbath isn’t something we earn by finishing everything – it’s the rest we’re invited to right in the middle of it all. “Sabbath is not the break we’re allotted at the tail end of completing all our tasks and chores . . . It’s the rest we take smack-dab in the middle of them, without apology, without guilt, and for no better reason than God told us we could” (The Rest of God, p. 93). For ministry leaders, that can feel countercultural. But God’s rhythm isn’t hustle, it’s holiness. And part of that rhythm is rest. (fb)

Disagreement isn’t a threat to unity. . . it’s an opportunity to model grace, humility, and growth.
