Evans Lake Forest Education Society

The Evans Lake Forest Education Society is a Canadian nonprofit organization dedicated to providing outdoor and forest education programs to children and youth. Located approximately 15 kilometers north of Squamish, British Columbia, the society operates the Evans Lake Forest Education Centre, which offers a unique blend of wilderness seclusion and modern amenities.

Evans Lake Forest Education Centre provides a range of programs:

History

Established in 1960, Evans Lake has a long history of providing educational and recreational opportunities. The facility has received support from various organizations, including the Vancouver Hoo Hoo Society, which contributed to developments such as the Outdoor Learning Centre and a Low Ropes course.

Support and Funding

The society relies on donations from individuals and corporate sponsors, as well as government funding, to support its programs. Limited subsidies for participants are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Location

Situated on the unceded territory of the Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), Evans Lake provides access to a picturesque mountain lake and 240 hectares of forest with over 10 kilometers of hiking trails.

Capacity

The centre can accommodate up to 125 people, making it a versatile venue for events and educational programs alike.
