On October 6, 2025, G78 Chair Edward Jackson announced the publication of the Group’s conference background paper entitled Harnessing Innovative Finance for Development Redefined. Prepared by researcher Kennisyn Longford-Daum, the paper discusses the potential and pitfalls of financing strategies in the post-USAID era, including debt relief, international tax cooperation, development banks, domestic resource mobilization, and private sector resources. “Conference participants will find this paper to be an essential tool in preparing for the conversations on and beyond October 10,” said Dr Jackson. On September 19, 2025, Ted Jackson, Chair of the Group of 78, announced the appointment of senior communications specialist Susanne Ure as Chief Rapporteur for the G78 2025 annual conference, Redefining Development in a Disordered World. “We are delighted that Susanne has agreed to bring her impressive experience and skill set to this important role.
