Have you noticed the Hydrangea sargentiana as you walk into the lodge?🪻 This striking hydrangea catches the eye with its showy white petals and crown of purpleish-blue florets at its centre. It stands proudly in the garden, and keeps a little secret: it's pollen is blue! This time of year, it's alive with pollinators. Bees, wasps, and a host of other garden friends gather on it, sporting their stylish blue pollen pockets; it's a real fashion statement. They are tricky to photograph while mulling about the flowers, but it's a wonder to watch. Next time you visit, take a moment to notice this magnificent bloom on your way inside the lodge.
