🐍 Field Call Friday! While wrapping up a wildlife call along a riverside trail, our Animal Protection Officers were flagged down by a group of concerned local runners. Their worry? A snake slowly slithering in the middle of a busy access road. Our officers quickly assessed the situation and found no signs of injury or distress — just one very relaxed Eastern Milk Snake enjoying a warm spot in the sun. ☀️While basking is perfectly natural for these cold-blooded creatures, the middle of a road isn’t the safest place to do it. So, the snake was gently relocated to a nearby grassy patch where it could soak up the sun without the traffic risk.
