📅 Tomorrow, October 18, marks Person’s Day in Canada. On this day in 1929, women were legally recognized as “persons”, thanks to the courage and determination of the Famous Five, who fought for women’s right to participate fully in public and political life. It’s staggering to think that less than 100 years ago, women weren’t even considered people under the law. And while progress has been made, the fight for true equality is far from over. Our 2025 Annual Report Card shows that representation for women in leadership has stalled and, in some areas, declined. Nearly a century later, the struggle for equality continues. As we honour those who broke barriers, we must also recommit to the work still ahead, ensuring women have equal opportunities to lead, decide, and shape Canada’s future.
