Yesterday, the 16th Sunday after Trinity, we had an opportunity to give thanks to God (And to Ned!) for the 25th anniversary of Rev. Ned's ordination to the Diaconate, which had happened on the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. Rev. Ned celebrated at the main services at both St. John's and St. Mary's, and afterwards a lovely lunch and celebration was held in the Hall with many from the whole parish, and from Rev. Ned and Arlene's family in attendance. Rev. Ned has faithfully and self-sacrificially served our parish during good times and bad, during interim periods when there was no full-time Rector, and faithfully alongside Rectors (especially the current one!) as a co-labourer for the Gospel. We have all been recipients of Rev. Ned's pastoral care, his love, and his ministry in word and sacrament, and we are all so deeply grateful for it, so I know you will join with us in giving thanks for the past 25 years of his ministry and praying for all the ways he will continue to serve God and this parish here in Summerside and St. Eleanors.
