Despite their red flags, these animals are still worthy of love🐾 Since 1985, Wildlife Preservation Canada has joined the race against time, protecting endangered species from disappearing forever. The animals in this post are a few examples of the 12 species WPC has successfully brought back from the brink. The eastern loggerhead shrike nearly vanished from Canada's grasslands in the early 2000s, the Taylor's checkerspot butterfly was thought to be extinct until 2005, and the Oregon spotted frog is the most endangered frog in Canada. Without WPC, all of these species would have already disappeared. But instead, they've become part of our legacy – one that continues to give back directly to nature. Over the last 40 years, we have released over 97,000 animals back into the wild from 21 different species. That's a big green flag if you ask us!💚 📸: L. Woolaver (slide 3), S.
