KYDS provides free counselling for young people up to the age of 19, without the need for a Medicare card, GP referral or mental health plan. KYDS provides free, accessible, needsbased and proven mental health support to children, young people and their families in Northern Sydney and in the Northern Beaches. We work with young people up to their 19th Birthday through the provision of individual counselling, parenting support, family meetings, therapeutic groups and the facilitation of network meetings that aim to enhance coordination of services supporting children, young people and families. KYDS with children and young people experiencing a range of mental health difficulties or emotional distress. Our professional team of clinicians supports young people who are impacted by symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma or other mental health conditions, as well as supporting young people who are experiencing difficulties at home, at school or in other contexts. We also deliver outreach support in Schools and Community settings, via our Schools Workshops, keynote addresses, group programs and online parent/carer webinars. This combination of services ensures that we are providing skills in supporting young people to maintain and develop emotional wellbeing, offering early intervention and prevention of mental health difficulties, as well as delivering ongoing counselling and mental health support to young people who require longer term care.
