Nominations are now open for the 2025 National Rural & Remote Health Awards and can be peer, organisation, patient or self-nominated. There are ten categories open for nominations, including one category for Rural/Remote Aged or Disability Carer of the Year. The Rural/Remote Aged or Disability Carer of the Year Award recognises an individual or team for providing outstanding care to the elderly or people with disabilities, including those experiencing mental health challenges. These carers improve the quality of life of individuals in rural/remote communities by providing care that shows empathy, compassion and respect for people of all cultural backgrounds.
