Congratulations to our colleague Dr Ken Diango on receiving his PhD! His dissertation research on 'Needs assessment and acceptability of a community first aid responder programme to increase Out-of-hospital capacity in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo' is already making a positive impact. We continue to be inspired by Ken (R) and love collaborating with the organisation he helped found, the DRC Emergency Medicine Association www.amurdc.org. Offer a hand up not a handout Enable In partnership we respond to community requests by providing the tools and training to help Congolese communities generate income to improve education health and wellbeing. Our Projects Food security and income generation Community gardens sustainable beekeeping and training in ecoagriculture all ensure food security in Lotumbe. Emergency medicine Provides emergency medicine training and equipment to doctors nurses and traditional midwives for safer births neonatal emergency care and resuscitation skills. Education Encompasses youth leadership and entrepreneur training school fees teachers stipends libraries and textbooks.
