Giant Gippsland Earthworm Census Did you know the Giant Gippsland Earthworm (GGE) is only found in south-west Gippsland? Growing up to 2 metres long, this underground giant is a natural wonder—but the future of this threatened species is uncertain. We are working with the Gippsland Threatened Species Group and other partners on a large-scale census survey of the Giant Gippsland Earthworm (GGE) – the first since 1980! Please join in! GGEs are almost exclusively found on private land, so we need everyone to get involved and help us find out if this threatened species is thriving or declining.
