At Council on the Ageing Queensland, our work supports the wellbeing of older people in Queensland. We are committed to advancing the rights, needs, interests, and futures of people as we age. We maintained our Seniors Peak status in Queensland, providing research and advice, capability building of 50 organisations funded under Qld. Gov. Older Persons Investment Specifications Program and dissemination of information. In the lead role of a Queensland based consortium we supported the home care sector to attract, train and retain personal care workers able to deliver consumer focused quality aged care services. As well as providing targeted support to aged care providers to promote consumer access to home care in rural and regional remote areas. We supported the development of the home support service system and enabled CHSP service providers to operate effectively in line with the objectives of the CHSP and within the context of the broader aged care system. We coordinated Seniors Month in Qld in partnership with the Qld Gov, supporting all ages, cultures, and people with differing abilities to connect and celebrate the important and essential role older people play in our communities We are continuing to build awareness around the findings of the Royal Commission and participated in Parliamentary Inquiries to inform positive change for Queenslanders as they age.
