Coogee Beach was buzzing with good vibes last weekend! The day began with a heartfelt Welcome to Country by Reverend Mitchell Garlett, who reminded us of the importance of connecting to Country from the heart. With that spirit in mind, our incredible community came together to plant 4,480 native seedlings on Saturday – building on the 2,200 seedlings already planted earlier on June 7. Together, that’s over 6,600 seedlings planted by community to help restore and protect the dunes at Coogee Beach! Big thanks to everyone who rolled up their sleeves – including the amazing Shah Satnam Ji Green S Welfare Committee-Australia, who not only got stuck into planting but also treated everyone to delicious chai masala and a warming community curry lunch. A perfect way to end a beautiful morning of coastal care.
