It was Wednesday, one week ago when our Little Hero, Eve Daher left Earthside to brighten the skies above. Eve was 5 years old when she was diagnosed with DIPG Brain Cancer and given a life expectancy of 6-9 months. She was 7 years old when she first came to Little Heroes in January 2023 - already, Eve had defied all the odds with a smile on her face. We were in awe of the strength and positivity possessed by one so young. It was on a Wednesday we would look forward to Eve, mum Angie and dad Tamer coming to Heroes House for a weekly swim. Over recent months, the cancer would significantly attack Eve’s movement and speech. And yet, her smile shone through still. Eve called herself “the girl who lived”. For over 4 years, Eve bravely faced this hideous beast with her family by her side. They are an inspiration, tirelessly campaigning for research and resources to combat such an aggressive cancer, and one most prevalent in children. Today is Wednesday.
