Today, 11 September 2025, is the great Estonian composer Arvo Pärt's 90th birthday! The music of Pärt has been a part of ACS’ musical life since our inception, and features in all our concerts this year. Our Artistic Director Christie Anderson writes: 'Transcendent, otherworldly and deeply spiritual... these are the immediate words that come to mind when describing the incredible experience that is Arvo Pärt's music for choirs. From his early days of tintinnabulation to the present, Pärt's belief in the innate humanity that each individual voice brings to his music is honest, raw, and beautiful.
