I find the judicial system deeply problematic. In many countries, the law is considered the bedrock of so-called civilisation, an institution meant to transcend political factions, religious dogma, and cultural bias. It’s often positioned as the gold standard by which society measures justice and morality. But here’s the contradiction: the same legal system that claims objectivity relies on adversarial processes. Prosecution versus Defence. Two lawyers, trained in the same legal framework, can present radically opposing interpretations of the same event. That in itself is concerning. It means truth becomes malleable, something that can be bent, packaged, and sold, depending on who argues it better. Take the current case involving Sean “Diddy” Combs and Cassie. A decade-old video surfaces, showing clear violence and still, we’re being asked to weigh legal definitions and idle semantics. One side frames it as a domestic dispute within a consensual relationship; another pushes for a charge of racketeering, arguing there’s a broader pattern of coercion and abuse. Meanwhile, the public is left to watch this moral theatre unfold, questioning why the system is spending millions to debate what is, plainly, abhorrent behaviour. That we have to intellectualise and legally sanitise such brutality is not just frustrating, it’s infuriating. It reveals a legal structure more invested in procedure than in justice. And that, in itself, is a form of institutional violence. It’s exhausting. It’s enraging. And it’s utterly, unequivocally, a form of societal fuckery.
